ArenaSystems®
Every sport deserves a stage. Light it like one.
Professional LED sports lighting for stadiums, pitches, courts and arenas, engineered to broadcast standard.
Built to Standard.
When the Game Is on the Line, Lighting Cannot Be
Sport is performance. Whether it is a UEFA Champions League final broadcast to 300 million viewers or a local football club hosting its first floodlit match, the athletes on the pitch deserve lighting that does not compromise their performance, and the spectators deserve a visual experience that matches the intensity of what they are watching.
ArenaSystems® is Bmiteq's dedicated division for professional sports and arena lighting. We supply certified, high-performance LED sports luminaires engineered to the exact photometric and broadcast standards required by each sport, each venue, and each level of competition.
From a community basketball court to a professional stadium with television broadcast infrastructure, ArenaSystems® has the product, the specification, and the technical support to make every venue perform at its highest level.
Why Sports Lighting Is a Discipline of Its Own
Sports lighting is the most technically demanding category of outdoor lighting engineering. The requirements go far beyond simply achieving a target lux level on a playing surface.
Uniformity across the entire field of play
An athlete moving at speed from a brightly lit zone into a dimly lit area loses visual tracking ability in milliseconds. EN 12193 and FIFA, UEFA, and ITF lighting standards define strict uniformity ratios, the difference between maximum and minimum illuminance across the field must stay within tightly defined limits. Failure to meet these ratios is not just a technical non-compliance. It is a safety risk and a performance compromise.
Glare control for athletes
A football striker looking up to meet an aerial ball. A tennis player tracking a serve at 200km/h. A basketball player shooting from range. In every case, glare from luminaires in the line of sight is not a comfort issue, it is a performance issue. Sports luminaires must deliver the required illuminance on the playing surface while keeping luminaire brightness within strict glare limits for players at ground level.
Colour rendering for visual performance
Athletes read the spin on a ball, the movement of opponents, the markings on a court, all of which require accurate colour perception. Sports lighting standards require CRI ≥ 65 as a minimum, with television broadcast applications requiring CRI ≥ 80 and TLCI ≥ 80 to faithfully reproduce colours on broadcast camera systems.
Television and broadcast standards
Professional and semi-professional venues with broadcast requirements face additional photometric demands. Camera systems, particularly slow-motion and high-speed cameras used in modern broadcasting, require significantly higher illuminance levels and specific vertical illuminance performance that is entirely separate from the horizontal illuminance experienced by players and spectators. Meeting broadcast standards requires both higher lumen output and precise optical engineering.
Flicker elimination
High-speed cameras operating at 1000+ frames per second are unforgiving of luminaire flicker. LED drivers in broadcast-standard sports luminaires must operate at frequencies that eliminate any visible flicker at any camera frame rate.
Every product in the ArenaSystems® range is specified with all of these requirements validated, not just lux on the field.
